Katrina Hope Broken Rope was born on August 14, 1984 in Pine Ridge, SD to Elwin Broken Rope, Sr. and Delphie Pawnee Leggins. Katrina made her journey to the Spirit World on January 2, 2024 at the Monument Health Hospice House in Rapid City, SD.
Katrina is survived by her children Lashae Mesteth, Sherae Mesteth, Aaliyah Walking, and Aviana Broken Rope; grandson Tien Mesteth; father Elwin Broken Rope Sr; sister Elvira Broken Rope; brothers Elwood Broken Rope, Elwin Broken Rope Jr, and Aaron Broken Rope; uncle Joseph Broken Rope; aunts Belnita Little Bear, Marilyn “Janice” Morrison; and numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins.
Katrina was preceded in death by her mother Delphine Pawnee Leggins; son Zondre Broken Rope; paternal grandparents Luke and Katie (Yellow Hawk) Broken Rope; and maternal grandparents David Pawnee Leggins and Vina Red Star.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Yellow Hawk, Ata Yellow Hawk, Ray Takes War Bonnett, Jeremy American Horse, Michael Little Bear, Shane Fast Horse, Brandon Pacheco, and Francis Morrison III.
Honorary pallbearers will be all friends & relatives.
