A two-night wake service begins Thurs, May 19, with all the family meeting at the county line at 4:00 CT for a procession to the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Veterans Building, where the wake starts at 5:00.
Kayla Roxanne Good Shield was born on June 10, 1989 in Yankton, SD to Naomi Good Shield and Roger Whipple. Kayla made her journey to the Spirit World on May 11, 2022 in Cheyenne, WY.
Kayla is survived by her daughter, Harley Marie Motz of Abilene, TX; mother, Naomi Good Shield of Rosebud, SD; father, Roger Whipple of Parmelee, SD; siblings, Jodell Spotted Horse of San Jose, CA, Joseph Sleeping Bear III and Maria Sleeping Bear both of Rosebud, SD; grandchildren, Aspen Spotted Horse, Teya Molina, Vine Spotted Horse, Wakinyan Sleeping Bear and numerous grandchildren; aunt, Vina Good Shield-White Lance of Rosebud, SD; and uncles, Harlan Good Shield, Sr. and Orlando Good Shield both of Rosebud, SD.
Kayla was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Vine & Marie (War Bonnet) Good Shield; paternal grandparents, Victoria Charging Hawk; and cousin, Myles Good Shield, Sr.
