Lady Rams Third At Tourney

The Crawford Lady Rams improved to 4-5 and took third place at the Cambridge Tournament over the weekend with a come-from-behind 44-41 victory over Dundy County-Stratton in the consolation match Saturday.

The Rams were down 13-3 after one quarter but used a 16-8 run in the second to pull within three. Trailing 21-19 as the second half began, Crawford tied the 0-8 Dundy County-Stratton with a 10-8 showing. With the score knotted at 29, the Rams added 15 to the board in the final eight minutes and held their opponents to nine to clinch the win. Stats for the game are not yet available.

The Lady Rams were placed in the consolation bracket after suffering a 60-16 defeat at the hands of 10-0 Maywood-Hayes Center Friday. Crawford never scored more than five points in a quarter, while MHC netted double digits each period. Britney Klein led the Rams with six points.

In the boys’ bracket, Crawford fell to 3-5 with two losses. The Rams faced undefeated Maywood-Hayes Center in the first round and lost 69-29. They opened the contest with a single bucket in the first period and trailed 47-7 at half-time. They faced 4-6 Cambridge in the contest for third place and lost 40-22. Stats are not available for either game.

The Crawford teams will travel to Edgemont Jan. 5 and Morrill Jan. 7.
