The Chadron High School girls couldn’t match the size, quickness, or defensive intensity of Lakota Tech Thursday night and lost at home 57-37.

The Cards led just once at 4-3 and were down just 10-6 after the 1st period and 25-15 at the half, but Tech opened the 2nd half on a 16-4 run and never looked back.

Chadron scored nearly half its points at the foul line, sinking 18 of 36 tries. Demi Ferguson scored the Cards’ first 4 points, but got only 3 the rest of the way. Taegan Bach had a team-high 8 points.

Tech’s depth showed as they had 4 players on the bench with 4 fouls each much of the 2nd half and still dominated play. Jodene Hunter and Tawny Rodriguez each had 15 for Lakota Tech.

The Chadron boys and girls host Mitchell Saturday with both games on KCSR and streamed at chadrad.com. Tipoff for the girls game is 3:30 with the broadcast beginning at 3:20.
