Broc Berry punched in a late 4th quarter touchdown as Chadron held off Sidney 19-13 at home on Friday night.
The Cardinals jumped on the board midway through the 1st on a 4-yard touchdown run by Quinn Bailey to snag a 7-0 lead. The lead would hold up until late in the first half when the Red Raiders returned a Berry interception for a score to tie the game at 7 before half.
Chadron reclaimed the lead in the 3rd when Berry connected with Malachi Swallow, but a failed extra point left the score at 13-7.
Berry’s 4th quarter touchdown put the Cards up 19-7 before Sidney scored late on a screen play to tighten the score but the ensuing onside kick attempt failed.
Chadron runs their record to 4-2 on the season and travels to Ogallala next Friday.
