Funeral services 22-year old Lathan Lucero are Monday, April 1, 2024 at 2:00 at the Wounded Knee Youth Building in Wounded Knee, SD, with traditional Lakota services by Jalin Garnette & Virgil Bush Sr.

Burial is at the Little Moon Family Cemetery in Wounded Knee

A two-night wake services starts Sat, March 30, at 2:00 at the Wounded Knee Youth Building in Wounded Knee

Lathan Wayne (Little Moon) Lucero was born on June 5, 2001 in Pine Ridge, SD to Wiconi Olowan Little Moon and Thomas Lucero.  Lathan made his journey to the Spirit World on March 19, 2024 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.

Lathan is survived by his twin boys Layton Wayne Lucero and Leon’dre Anthony Lucero; sisters Kisa (Garrett) Little Moon, Amelia Little Moon, Lyrika Little Moon, Tate High Hawk, and Anita Lucero; brothers Daniel & Jacob Lucero; grandparents Leo & Phyllis Little Moon; aunts Santana (John) Bear Eagle, Leslie (Jay) Little Moon, Leah Little Moon, and Phyliss Lucero; uncles Darrell Bear Eagle, Aloysius Little Moon, Dustin (Nicole) Little Moon, Michael (April) Little Moon and Jesse (Cassandra) Little Moon; grandparents Jackie Hernandez, Elvira Mosqueda, Ramona Ashmore, Cynthia Little Moon, Mona Little Moon, Paulette Little Moon, Elizabeth Gibbons, Marvin & Tamara Little Moon, and Ronnie Little Moon; cousin, Mercy, Oyate, John Jr, and Skyler Rondeau, Landen and Layla Little Moon, Lola Saucedo, Aryanni, Neveah, and Brayden Little Moon, Lashanti, Jalissa, Anpowin, and Olowan Little Moon, Justyce & Eva Bear Eagle, Tashaya Boltz, Mariah, Lexi, and Brandan Pourier; nephews Wakiksuya Bene and Messiah Rondeau; and nieces Zailee and Zamaree Rondeau, and Malani Rondeau.

Lathan was preceded in death by his mother Wiconi Little Moon; great-grandmothers Victoria Little Moon and Eloise Garnette; great-grandfathers Aloyious Little Moon and Charles Garnette; grandmother Lorraine Fast Horse; cousins Devin Bear Eagle, James Lucero, Jesse Little Moon Jr, and Cheyenne Rondeau; great-grandmother Beaulah Fast Horse; and great-grandfather Wilbur Fast Horse Sr.

Pallbearers will be John Rondeau Jr, Landen Little Moon, Eva Bear Eagle, Frank Medicine Jr, Deuce Martin, Anthony Red Cloud, Sylas Little Moon, Hijinio Garnette, Rayden Janis, Jesse Little Moon, and Toby Shot To Pieces.
