Burial is at the Johnson Memorial Presbyterian Cemetery in Wounded Knee.
A one-night wake originally scheduled for Tuesday, October 26, at 2:00 has been changed to Thursday, October 28 at 3:00, but still at the Messiah Episcopal Church in Wounded Knee.
Leroy Russell Horse was born on March 29, 1965 in Pine Ridge, SD to Leroy Russell Horse, Sr. and Bessie Good Voice Elk. Leroy made his journey to the Spirit World on October 16, 2021 in Denver, CO.
Leroy is survived by his daughters, Leslie Horse and Dawn Webber; aunts & uncles, Cindy Antelope, Mary Horse-Felecia, Thurman Horse, Noah Horse, Malcolm Horse, Wilbur Morrison, Chris Morrison, Sarah Martinez of Potato Creek, SD, Dorothy Rowland, Jackie Garnier, Beverly Titus, Delphine Eagle Hawk, Jeanett Eagle Hawk, and Romae Eagle Hawk; grandchildren, Tracy, Akicita, Ohitika, Baby Lou, Lany, Lacey, and Wambli Horse; and great-grandchildren, Leilani and Baby Mason Horse.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy Russell Horse, Sr. and Bessie Good Voice Elk; and grandchildren, Amber Lynn Ortiz and Aaliyah Horse.
Pallbearers will be John Lynn Ghost, Ronny Jumping Eagle, Jr., Israel Janis, Noah Horse, Thurman Horse, Derek Peters, and Dave DeSersa.
