A Chadron man is in custody in the Dawes County jail on 5 felony charges after allegedly giving a girl under the age of 16 methamphetamine in exchange for sex.
58-year old David King is being held on $100,000 bond on single counts of 1st-degree Sexual Assault, Solicitation of Prostitution from an indvidual under 18, Possession of Methamphetamine, Distribution of Controlled Substance, and Child Abuse.
Chadron Police Investigator Dusty Bryner says the case began when a girl under 18 contacted police and told Officer Zack Klemp that King had given her meth in exchange for “acts of a sexual nature.”
After further interviews, Bryner says he and Klemp received a search warrant for the Chadron apartment where the girl said the incident happened.
While serving the warrant Friday, Aug 19, Chadron officers and investigators from the WING drug task force seized residual amounts of methamphetamine, 12 grams of marijuana, numerous plastic bags, a scale, cash, and drug paraphernalia.
King, who was present for the search, was then arrested and taken to jail. The child abuse charge stems from the age of the alleged female victim.
