Marguerite Rose Cavanaugh Kearns was born October 27, 1923, and passed away on September 5, 2023, at Seven Sisters Living Center in Hot Springs, SD, with her family at her side.
After her marriage, Marguerite lived and raised her family in Rushville, NE, then came to Hot Springs to work as a Registered Nurse at the VA Medical Center. She fell in love with the area and after retiring chose to live out her years in Hot Springs.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband Edward Kearns Jr and her sons Michael and Patrick Kearns.
She is survived by her 4 other children: Elizabeth/Betty (Donald) Maberry, Rushville; Karen Rhoads, Lincoln, NE; Peter Kearns, Hot Springs; and Sharon Kearns, Hot Springs.
Marguerite is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren as well as many beloved nieces and nephews spread across the country.
Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home in Gordon, NE, is in charge of arrangements for Marguerite Kearns.
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear mother, and I pray for God’s comfort, as only he can give, at times like these.
