Marie Wilahemina (Yazzie) Long was born on October 23, 1939 in Lukachukai, AZ to Woodie and Mary Yazzie. Marie made her journey to the Spirit World on May 18, 2026 at the Gordon Memorial Hospital in Gordon, NE.Marie is survived by her sisters, Margaret Yazzie and Irene Yazzie; brothers, Dexter Yazzie and Jefferson Yazzie; children, Darwin Long, Christina Long, Karen Long, Narda Long, & Sonny Long; her grandchildren she raised, Rose Long Black Cat, Wakinyan Long Black Cat, and Darwin Long Jr.; and many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, & nephews. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Woodie & Mary Yazzie; her step-mother who raised her, Ella Yazzie; spouse, John Long, Sr.; brothers, Luke Jasper Yazzie, Frank A. Yazzie, and Woodie Yazzie, Jr.; children, John Long, Jr. and Francis Long; grandchildren, Wiyaka Long Black Cat, Raelynn Long Black Cat, Desmond Long-Red Star, Alexis Jumping Eagle, Casey Long-Weston, Lakota Sky Jumping Eagle, Zacharias Long, Koryann Bald Eagle, Martina Bores A Hole, WillieAnn Bores A Hole, Bobby Joe Garnier, David Garnier, Ernie Garnier, Brian Long, Xavier Long, Adrian Long, William “Billy” Black, Vernon “Buzzy” Black, Jr., Corrine Bald Eagle, and Marian Bald Eagle; and close friends, Gladys Ecoffey and Eileen Janis.
