Funeral services for 27-year old Martin Mesteth Jr are Monday, October 11, 2021 at 1:00 at the Mesteth residence in Wounded Knee, SD.
Burial is in the Mesteth Family Cemetery at White Horse Creek, SD
A two-night wake service starts Saturday, October 9, at 11:00, also at the Mesteth residence in Wounded Knee.
Martin J Mesteth Jr was born on December 16, 1993 in Pine Ridge, SD to Martin Mesteth, Sr. and Lori (Garnier) Mesteth. Martin made his journey to the Spirit World on September 30, 2021 at the IHS Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD.
Martin is survived by his sister, Ashley Mesteth of Wounded Knee, SD; nieces, Lilly Twiss and Tyra Garnier, both of Wounded Knee, SD; nephew, Tyron Hollow Horn, of Wounded Knee, SD; aunts & uncles, Jackie Garnier of Wounded Knee, SD, Mary Helen Chavez of Shiprock, MN, Rachel Garnier of Pine Ridge, SD, and Sioux Cheyenne Garnier of Rapid City, SD; hunka siblings, Mykala White Dress of Wounded Knee, SD, Sammie Romero of Wounded Knee, SD, Charity Medicine of Wounded Knee, SD, Isiah Red Star of Wounded Knee, SD, Shayne Red Star, Dale Jealous of Him, Sidney Jealous of Him of Alliance, NE, and Mike Cuny of Rapid City, SD; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends – too many to name, but he loved you all.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Lori (Garnier) Mesteth and Martin Mesteth, Sr.; grandparents, Cecilia & Max Mesteth, Anita Whitey, and Richard Garnier; and great-grandmother, Claudia Iron Hawk.
Pallbearers will be Shayne Red Star, Isiah Red Star, George Mesteth, Sheridan Shott, Mike Cuny, and Tyron Hollow Horn.
Honorary pallbearers will be All Friends & Relatives.
