Funeral services for 88-year old Marvin “Tuck” Buckley of Harrison, NE, are Thurs, Sept 22, 2022 at 10:00 at the United Methodist Church in Harrison.

Burial will be at the Harrison City Cemetery.

The family would like to have you join them at the Harrison VFW hall for lunch following the graveside service.

Visitation is Wednesday, Sept 21, at 7:00 pm at the United Methodist Church in Harrison.

A memorial has been established for the Harrison Volunteer Fire Department and donations may be sent in care of Chamberlain Chapel, PO Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.

Marvin George (Tuck) Buckley was born in rural Sioux County Nebraska on November 7th, 1933, to Roy and Ople Buckley. He passed away on Sept 13, 2022, in Casper. Wyo, after a battle with Dementia.

Tuck graduated from Sioux County High School in 1952 and went into the US Army. After spending time in Germany, he received an honorable discharge and came home to marry Margie Sternhagen and start a life of husband, father, and rancher.

Tuck and Margie brought William (Bill), Penny Jo, and Shelly Ann into the world and began a whirlwind of school, 4-H, FFA, and high school sports. They continued ranch life in Sioux County until Margie passed on in 1998.

A year later, Tuck remarried – uniting with Phyllis Wickersham on 10/31/99 and they spent many hours together with puzzles, card games. and trips to the Prairie Winds Casino. He continued to ranch and partnered up with his great-nephew Tom Lambert and family in his later years.

Tuck was grandpa to: Brandy Jo, Lacy and LaShelle Raben; Donald, Billie Jo, Jamie, and Adam Buckley; and Ryan, Elizabeth and Russel Boyd.

He was Great-grandpa to: Laney, Gracie, and Parker Dahlberg of Alliance; Sasha Bickford, Marc Toner, and Kinsey Toner of Oklahoma; Rylee, Alayna, and Max Boyd of Oregon; Suzannah and Vivienne Boyd of California; Julie Anthem of Oklahoma’ and Ethan Buckley of Wyoming.

Tuck also got to be Step-grandpa to Kyle Dannelly (Amanda) and Annah Smith (Stacey), and step-great-grandpa to their combined 6 children: Madison, Alexis, Halee, Micah, and Paige Smith of Indiana; and Kylee Dannelly of Kansas.

Tuck preceded in Death by his parents and siblings Ila Mae Bannan and Ivol, Jewel, Dale, and Robert Buckley, and Grandson Adam.
