Funeral services for 70-year old Meredith Blue Legs are Monday, Feb 19, 2024 at 2:00 at the TNT Center in Wanblee, SD, with Mother Michelle Dayton, Lay Ministers Johnny Wilson and Rita Brown officiating and traditional Lakota services by Ernest Red Elk and Calvin Red Elk
Burial is at the Gethsemane Episcopal Cemetery in Wanblee
A two-night wake service starts Sat, Feb 17, at 1:00 at the TNT Center in Wanblee with evening services at 6:00 each night of the wake.

Meredith Kaye Blue Legs was born on Dec 17, 1953 in Pine Ridge, SD to Wallace Blue Legs and Melissa (Meat) Blue Legs. Meredith made her journey to the Spirit World on Feb 8, 2024 at the Bennett County Hospital in Martin, SD.
Meredith lived in Wanblee most of her life and worked many years at the Wanblee Headstart as a cook. She also worked at the Crazy Horse School and the Wanblee IHS Clinic.
Meredith continued her education at the Eagle Nest College Center through the years and continued to live in Wanblee, where she raised her great-grandson. She loved to spend time with her family and friends.
Meredith is survived by her son Stacey Blue Legs; daughter Dawn Blue Legs; special friend Mike Marshall; sisters Joann Rockwood, Melda Hawkins, and Donna LaCoste; brother Wesley Hawkins; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Meredith was preceded in death by her parents Wallace and Melissa Blue Legs; brothers Gary Blue Legs Sr and Lyle Blue Legs Sr; son Arlan Bissonette; sisters Ione Bingham and Cordelia Finly; nephews Rance Blue Legs and Perry Hawkins; aunt Gertie Yankton; cousin Teresa Gomez; and hunka sister Violet Demartes.
Pallbearers will be Christan Blue Legs, Dominic Blue Legs, Randy Yankton, Lyle Blue Legs, III, Jeremiah Brewer, Preston Hawkins, Carl Moran Jr, and Lenny Yankton.
