Friday night at four o’clock, MPC Heating and Cooling opened their doors to welcome the community and introduce the new owners, Jarod Hamik and Mike Kratz. Chadron also had the opportunity to meet the new manager, Brett Malzhan and the crews of MPC. Dinner and drinks were available as well as a raffle for a chance to win a free installation, faucet, and alcohol.
A native to Wisconsin, Malzhan has experience in farming, plumbing, and HVAC. Malzhan connected with Mike Kratz through a hiring website and went to work for Kratz in O’Neil, Nebraska for several years at his company. After moving back to Wisconsin for a short time, Malzhan said he received a call from Kratz. In reference to this, Malzhan remarked, “Mike called me up and he said ‘ Hey Brett, we bought another branch. We need somebody to run it and your name’s on the top of the list.’” Malzhan said, “ And here I am!”
In the area since April, Malzhan said he is getting acclimated to Chadron and the business. Malzhan said, “ I know how to deal with customers, I know how to look for opportunities, I’ve just got a lot of background.”
