South Dakota Sobriety Checkpoints

Loading

The South Dakota Highway Patrol has announced its sobriety checkpoints for the month of June. The checkpoints will be in 17 counties including Fall River and Pennington in the western part of the state.

The patrol says the monthly checkpoints are intended to discourage impaired driving. Funding for checkpoints comes from the South Dakota Office of Highway Safety and is conducted by the patrol and local law enforcement agencies.

The patrol reminds drivers not to drink and drive and anyone who has been drinking to have a designated driver or use commercial or public transportation.
