Noah Eggleston of Sumner-Eddyville-Miller threw for four touchdowns and Chandler Page of Parkview Christian ran for two more as Nebraska defeated Wyoming 52-16 in the 12th Nebraska/Wyoming 6-man shootout on Friday night at Elliot Field/Don Beebe Stadium at Chadron State College.Â
The win by Nebraska evens the series at six victories a piece.
The game was tight through the first 13 minutes before 5 straight scores by Nebraska made the score 46-8 midway through the 3rd quarter.
Wyoming’s defense forced the only turnover of the night, but it was Nebraska’s defense that dominated. It allowed the Cowboy Staters to cross midfield just a handful of times while racking up double-digit tackles for loss.Â
It’s the third Nebraska win in the last four meetings and continues a pattern of Nebraska matching Wyoming. The Cowboy State has had winning streaks of 3 games, 2 games, and 1 game followed by Nebraska posting identical streaks in response.Â
