No Quorum, No Vote On Medical Marijuana On The Wind River Indian Reservation

Loading

Medical marijuana won’t be allowed on Wyoming’s Wind River Reservation just yet after a meeting of the Eastern Shoshone General Council on Saturday failed to attract the quorum of 75 to vote on the issue.

The Northern Arapaho, the other tribe on the reservation, voted May 8th to decriminalize medical pot and the Eastern Shoshone was expected to follow suit. The council now plans to reconvene for another vote June 12.

The Eastern Shoshone council did pass into law several other resolutions dealing with marijuana including creation of a new medical marijuana commission to regulate tribal-owned cultivation and extraction facilities for pot products.
