Burial is at St Pauls’ Catholic Cemetery in Porcupine, SD
A two-night wake service starts at 1:00 PM, Sat, Jan 7, 2023 at 1:00 at the Rockyford School Old Gym with evening services starting at 5:00 each night.
Oliver Jason Jack “Chatka Tunka” was born on May 29, 1976 in Pine Ridge, SD to Leslie Wayne Jack and Roberta Joyce Whiting. Oliver made his journey to the Spirit World on December 25, 2022 at his home near Porcupine, SD.
Oliver is survived by his mother Joyce Whiting of Porcupine, SD; children Lakoya Jack, Oliver Jack Jr, Dru Jack, and Wiconi Jack all of Sisseton, SD; sisters Janet Martinez and Brianne Whiting; nieces & nephews Alira, Tobias, Milene & Jacoby Whiting, Jordan Mesteth, Summer and Savanah Montileaux, Cheyenne Whiting, Anthony Whiting, Keisha Carbajal, Lauren and Elaina Pourier, Charles, Trisha, & Wiyaka Little Spotted Horse; aunts
Twila Sanchez of Albuquerque, NM, and Victoria and Christine Whiting both of Rapid City, SD; uncles Mark (Lorena) Jack of Lupe, AZ, Frank Whiting of Porcupine, SD, Albert Whiting Jr of Hastings, MN, and Cyrus Condon of Rapid City, SD, and his best friend Vader.
Oliver was preceded in death by his father Leslie W Jack; one infant son; sisters Jennifer and Lorelei Red Shirt; maternal grandparents Albert Sr and Elsie (Crow) Whiting; paternal grandparents Isadore and Edith (Red Willow) Jack; grandfather Roy Stone Sr; aunts Bernadette Whiting, Ruth Whiting, Carmen Whiting, and Rosalyn Pumpkin Seed; and uncles Michael Whiting, Ambrose Monroe, Patrick Jack, Alan jack, and Clement “Seymore” Jack.
Pallbearers will be Rich White, Wyman White Feather, Martin Randall, and Daryl Brave.
Honorary pallbearers will be all friends, family, & relatives.
