Loading

Omaha’s Terence Crawford is now the undisputed welterweight boxing champion of the world.

Crawford, who’s dropped his long-time nickname of Bud, knocked down fellow undefeated champion Errol Spence Jr 3 times before finally ending the fight with a TKO at 2:32 of the 9th round

The fight was the most-anticipated boxing match in several years and made Crawford the first undisputed champion in the 147-pound division in the 4-belt era that began in 2004. He held the WBO belt while Spence was the WBC, WBA, and IBF champion

Spence’s first loss as a professional drops him to 28-1 with 22 knockouts while Crawford is 40-0 with 31 knockouts, including 11 straight. He also the first boxer to be the undisputed champion at 2 weights in his career.

ESPN ranks Crawford the #1 fighter in the world at any weight with Spence #4. FanDuel Sportsbook had Crawford as a slight favorite.
