The City of Chadron says all power in the city will be turned off at 2:30 this afternoon at the request of Nebraska Public Power District, which is dealing with a number of wind-related outages in the area.
The original announcement was for the shutoff to be at 2:15.
No details are available on how long electricity will be off with the intentional cutting of the power.
Chadron Community Hospital and Health Services says all residents with specialized health needs such as oxygen should shift to their portable or battery backups before the power is shut off.
