Andy Meyers

The Fort Robinson Post Playhouse has hired an award-winning actor, director, playwright, and arts administrator as its new Producing Artistic Director.

Andy Meyers succeeds Tom Ossowski, who stepped down last fall after 16 years.

Meyers has been the Artistic Director for the Fort Peck Summer Theater in northeast Montana for 10 record-breaking seasons and is a past Managing Director for Performing Arts at the Snug Harbor Cultural Center on Staten Island in New York City.

He’s originally from the East Coast, but earned a Master’s Degree in Musical Theater from the University of Montana in Missoula and is based in Montana because he feels at home creating art in the beautiful western region of the country.

Meyers has an extensive career as an actor that includes performing at the Tony Award winning McCarter Theatre and in National Tours of Annie, Bus Stop and A Christmas Carol. He also starred Off-Broadway in the 35th Anniversary revival of Dames at Sea and Circle of Friends.

Behind the scenes, Meyers is a frequent guest director/choreographer with such companies as Arizona Broadway Theatre, Missoula Children’s Theatre, Bigfork Summer Playhouse, Public Theatre of San Antonio, Shawnee Playhouse, and various academic appointments.

. As a playwright, he focuses on creating Theatre for Young Audience scripts primarily through his nonprofit AM Theatrical, which has the goals of bringing arts exposure to youth in underserved communities, while addressing social issues in a positive, entertaining and educational event. P

Meyers has worked at theaters and arts organizations across the county.  During the pandemic, he returned to the virtual classroom, earning professional certificates in Nonprofit Administration and Grant Writing. Andy
