Western Nebraska Community College has 3 finalists with 2 in this week and the other next week while all 4 finalists at Chadron State College will be in this week, although a day later than scheduled because of weather concerns that led to closing the campus on Tuesday..

The WNCC candidates will be in Scottsbluff their first day for interviews by the board and a livestreamed open forum from 4:30-5:30, then will have Meet-and-Greets the following day on the Alliance campus from 9-10:00 and in Sidney from 2-3:00.

The first WNNC finalist is Monday –  Dr George McNulty, president of Gogebic CC in northwest Michigan. His forum streams at livestream.com/wncc/forum-april3

McNulty will be followed Tuesday by Greg Dart, chief campus administrator at Utah State University-Eastern. livestream.com/wncc/forum-april5 is the address for his open forum.

The last WNCC finalist is Dr Samuel (Todd) Brand, chief academic officer at Ashland Community & Technical College in Tennessee. He will be in Scottsbluff a week from Thursday. The WNCC board will meet in special session on Wednesday the 19th to announce its selection.

WNCC has been without a permanent president since the unexpected resignation of Dr Carmen Simone in June 2021. Former Lamar Community College President Dr John Marrin, who spent 23 years at WNCC as a professor and administrator, has been serving as Interim President since then.

The Nebraska State College Trustees are holding a special meeting, pushed back a day, Wednesday at CSC for the campus visits by the 4 finalists.

College System Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr Jodi Kupper and Univ of Northern Iowa Dean of Humanities, Arts, and Sciences John Fritch will be interviewed Wednesday with Northern Alabama Vice President of Diversity Dr Ron Patterson, and Mississippi Dean of Students and Assistant Vice Chancellor Dr Brent Marsh on Thursday

Each will be interviewed by the trustees in the Sandoz Center, have a forum with faculty and staff in the Student Center, and meet  with students, alumni, Chadron State Foundation Staff, and members of the public in the large classroom in the new Math Science Center of Innovative Learning that will also be available on Zoom.
