Mexican singer Ramón Ayala, known as the King of the Accordion will not be playing at the Nebraska State Fair on August 29 after all.
In a post written in Spanish on his official Facebook page on Monday, Ayala said all the stops on his current tour have been canceled. He gave no specific reasons, saying only that they were behind his control.
Ayala apologized for the inconvenience, but said he and the band are working on a new plan for the tour in 2024.
Nebraska State Fair Executive Director Jaime Parr says fair organizers are diligently working on securing a replacement concert to ensure that fairgoers still experience exceptional entertainment in the Nebraska Lottery concert series.
Parr says she understands the disappointment that comes with the cancellation of a highly anticipated concert, but wants to assure ticket holders that their tickets will remain valid for the replacement concert once it is announced.
That said, refunds will also be available for those who want one after Ayala’s replacement is announced or June 21st, whichever comes first with details to be released at that time.
