Ramona Marie Vocu was born on June 8, 1956 in Pine Ridge, SD to Leo Wilferd Vocu and Loretta Mary (Whiting) Vocu. Ramona made her journey to the Spirit World on Feb 16, 2024 at the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.
Ramona is survived by her son Sidney Hammonds; siblings Gayle M Vocu, John H Vocu, Richard L Vocu, Leona M Jewett, Anthony L Vocu Sr, Lucy M Vocu, Monica M Vocu, and Darlene “Peannie” Perkins; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Ramona was preceded in death by her parents Leo W Vocu and Loretta M Whiting-Vocu; brothers Bill Vocu and Tom Vocu; sister Kathy Vocu; and hunka sisters Jackie Gray and Shanna Lessert – and her daughter Ellie Lessert.
Pallbearers will be Chisole “Boober” Gray, Sean Gray, Sean Hawk, Ayanna Lessert, Eric Lessert, Kellen Janis Jr, Elisea Brewer, Zuya Lawrence, Joseph Catches, JC Sierra, and Scott Lessert.
