The Crawford Rams split their return to the hardwood following the holiday break, winning over Edgemont but dropping a game to Morrill.
The Ram boys pulled out a come-from-behind win over Edgemont Jan. 4 after trailing the Moguls for the entire first half. Edgemont inched ahead 9-5 after one quarter and held an even smaller 22-21 advantage at the break. Crawford went on an 11-3 run in the third quarter and capped the game with a 14-10 showing in the fourth for a 46-35 victory.
Keaton Darrow led the Moguls with nine points, while two Rams scored in double digits: Taylor Homan with 17 and Rhett Flack with 10. Carter Rudloff pulled down 15 rebounds for Crawford.
The Rams’ fate was reversed Jan. 6, when the Morrill Lions managed the come-from-behind win. Crawford started with a 12-5 lead and was up 16-11 at halftime. The Lions came out of the break on fire, however, and raced past the Rams with a 19-10 run in the third quarter. Both teams netted 16 points in the final frame, but the big third quarter was enough to give Morrill the 46-42 win.
Cyrus Walter led the Rams with 17 points, while Homan added 13. Rudloff grabbed 10 boards.
The Crawford boys are now 7-4 on the year.
