Loading

The South Dakota National Guard’s 235th Military Police Company has ended a nearly year-long deployment to Joint Task Force Guantanamo in Cuba and the 109 soldiers are being welcomed home Sunday in Rapid City.

A number of dignitaries and leaders are expected for the 4:00 celebration in the Theater at the Monument, formerly the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.

The 235th was gone for 10 months, providing detention operations support in Cuba. They returned to the U-S on October 30th, and have spent the past 2 weeks debriefing and demobilizing at Fort Bliss, Texas.
