Funeral services for 46-year old Raymond Running Shield are Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 2:00 at Joyner Hall in Pine Ridge, SD.
Cremation will follow the services.
A one-night wake service starts at Friday, November 5, at 3:00 also at Joyner Hall in Pine Ridge.
Raymond Wayne Running Shield was born on August 19, 1975 in Pine Ridge, SD to Rudolph Running Shield, Sr. and Corliss “Rita” Big Crow. Raymond made his journey to the Spirit World on October 31, 2021 at the Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, NE.
Raymond is survived by his mother, Rita Big Crow; children, Jaydean (Dalton) Jensen, Mysti Running Shield, Tyger Poor Bear, Austin Bordeaux, and Brooklyn Bordeaux; siblings, Rudolph Running Shield, Jr., Lesley Running Shield, Wesley Running Shield, and Jimmy Joe Running Shield; grandchildren, Kayden, Dominic, & Harleigh Houck, Izaiah Frogg, and Asher & Karson Pettibone; nephew, Baby Jim Running Shield; and nieces, Marcella Running Shield and Sophia Running Shield.
Raymond was preceded in death by his father, Rudy Running Shield; sister, Jessica “Webbie” (Nicholas) Running Shield; brother, Austin Lee Big Crow; maternal grandparents, James Big Crow, Sr. & Marcella (Mills) Big Crow-Martin; paternal grandparents, Trinidad & Bette Vargas; uncles, Walt Big Crow and Gerald “Jump” Big Crow; and aunts, Theresa Black Bull and Geri Merchant.
