Burial is at the Ice Family Cemetery in Wounded Knee, SD
A one-night wake service starts at Sunday, Nov 7, at 1:00 also at the Chase In Winter residence with evening services starting at 6:00 PM.
Jared Uriel Iron Horse “TaSunke Maza” was born on September 21, 1991, in Pine Ridge, SD to Jackson Iron Horse Jr and Diane Chase In Winter. Jared made his journey to the Spirit World on October 30, 2021 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Jared is survived by his sister, Frances Stands; father, Jackson Iron Horse Jr; auntie “moms” Yvonne (Manuel) Chase In Winter, Karen (Bryan) White Butterfly, Joyce (Lester) White Butterfly, Genevieve (Elton) Chase In Winter, Beverly Corbine, and Beverly Larson; uncles, Donovan Chase In Winter, Austin Backward, and Steve Bear Eagle; grandmother, Barbara High Pine; cousin “brothers” Michael, Steve, and Lance Chase, Jeremy Chase In Winter, Casey Red Cloud, Craig Chase, Flooyd Bullman, Will Plenty Arrows, Ryan Richard, Nick Charging Cloud, Lester, Jesse, Gene, Charles, and Ben Jack; cousin “sisters” Jessica Smallwood, Kimimila Jack, and Julie White Butterfly; and numerous nieces and nephews; and Godparents Myron Standing Bear and Jody Pacheco.
Jared was preceded in death by his mother, Diane Chase In Winter; auntie “moms” Cheryl Chase In Winter, Fayth (Bonnie) Plenty Arrows, and Darlene Chase In Winter; uncles, Lester & Philbert White Butterfly, Willard, Bernard, and Darnell Chase In Winter; grandparents William Chase In Winter, Frances Ice, Jackson & Caroline Iron Horse Sr; and cousin “sisters” Katrina White Butterfly and Tessie Jack.
Pallbearers will be Michael Chase, Steve Chase, Jeremy Chase In Winter, Lance Chase, Floyd Bullman, Ryan Charging Cloud, Charles Jack, Casey Red Cloud, Will (Teek) Plenty Arrows, Armondo Red Paint, Austin Backward, Tony Vocu, and Craig Chase.
