Reds Hit 25 From 3-Point Range In 125-109 Win At The Panhandle Prep All-Star Boys Game

      The Reds bombed away from long-range to claim a 125-109 victory over the Blues Friday night at the Panhandle Prep All-Star Boys Basketball games in Scottsbluff.

The Reds sank 25 shots from beyond the 3-point arc and never trailed.

They dominated the first and last quarters, but after jumping out to leads of 14-2 and 24-6, the margin was down to 11 after one period and just 3 at the half at 53-50.

       The Reds pushed the margin back to 12 early in the 3rd and then, after the Blues narrowed the gap to 83-76 late in the period, scored the final 5 points of the quarter before opening the 4th with a 10-2 run for a 20-point margin. 

    MPV Max Greeley of Gering got most of his game-high 35 points on 3-pointers, hitting 9 of them, but Ogallala’s Jeron Gager wasn’t far behind with 27 points and 6 treys as 9 different Reds had at least on 3-pointer.

        The only Hwy 20 players in the game were on the Blue team and all were from Gordon-Rushville. Jace Nelson had a team-high 16 points, Carter Anderson added 7, Ellis Livingston scored 5, and Logan Slama contributed 3.

      Slama was the 3-point runner-up to Nick Waldron of Alliance. Each hit 8 in the opening round, then in the shootout Waldron went a sizzling 12-15 while Slama made only 9. Waldron also won the slam dunk contest.
