A service of remembrance for 91-year old Richard “Dick” O’Donnell of Chadron, NE, will be Friday, Nov 4, 2022 at 10:00 at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron.

Richard Richard O’Donnell was born the son of Patrick and Bertha O’Donnell on May 3, 1930 in Pringle, SD, and passed away on Oct 21, 2022, at Crestview Care Center in Chadron.
Richard and his three brothers and four sisters grew up on the family ranch north of Chadron.
Richard graduated from Chadron High School, Class of 1951, and he worked on the home place following graduation. He also worked at Chadron Sale Barn for 17 years and then for the Chadron Public Schools until he retired.
Richard married Shirley Abold on October 1, 1970, in Martin, SD, and celebrated 52 years of marriage this month. They were blessed with 7 children.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Bob and John, sister Patty, and grandson Augustus (Gus).
He is survived by his wife Shirley; his children Richard (Chrissy) O’Donnell of Oglala, SD; Sheila Griffith (Nick) Woods of Yankton, SD; Lewis (Jeannie) O’Donnell of Chadron; Bertha (John) Sayaloune, of Scottsbluff, NE; Heidi (Jim) Cushing of Gordon, NE’ Joe (Linnea) O’Donnell of Gordon; George (Michelle) O’Donnell of Chadron; sisters Mary Wolvington, Jean Schuhmacher, and Alice Lorenzen, brother Tom O’Donnell, and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
