Funeral services for 36-year old Rocky Joe Fraser are Tues, Jan 11, 2022 at 11:00 at the Family Sun Dance Grounds located 4 miles north of Sharp’s Corner, SD, with Ms. Joyce Tibbitts officiating and traditional Lakota services by Tom Thunder Hawk

Burial is at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Cemetery in Porcupine, SD

A one-wake service starts Monday, Jan 10, at 1:00, also at the Family Sun Dance Grounds 4 miles North of Sharp’s Corner.

Rocky Joe Fraser “TaTanka Ihanblé” was born on October 6, 1985 in Rapid City, SD to John Ferd Fraser and Lois Kay (Pourier) Fraser.  Rocky made his journey to the Spirit World on December 31, 2021 at his home near Rockyford, SD.

Rocky is survived by his daughters, Jauntae Rose Fraser, Johanna Jade Fraser, and Maliah Dawn Dawn Fraser; mother, Lois Fraser; brothers, Vincent, Jeremy, Shawn, Doug, Luke, & Casey; sisters, Jodi, Renee, Betty, & Raeona; aunts, Renee Blue Horse, Alberta Clinchers, and Roberta Woman Dress; uncle, Ernie Pourier; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and grandchildren.

Rocky was preceded in death by his father, John Fraser; paternal grandparents, Robert Fraser, Lorene (Jones) Fraser, and Garry Conroy; maternal grandparents, Bud & Katherine (Brewer) Pourier; and uncles, Dean Pourier, Wayne Pourier, and Joe Blue Horse.  

Pallbearers will be Sam Jealous, Derek Pourier, Caesar Cross Dog, Bud Thompson, Paul Goings, Willie Clifford, Jon Pond, Shawn Patton, Jr., Chance Fraser, Mark Rogers, Jr., and Bob Lone Elk.

Honorary pallbearers will be All Broken Arrow Sundancers, and All Friends & Family who loved Rock.
