Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Night

Loading

Saturday night, Chadron’s Assumption Arena hosted the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF). The group specializes in conservation for elk habitats and the preservation of hunting traditions. RMEF operates entirely on volunteers through local chapters around the country. Sam Silacci, RMEF Regional Director for Western South Dakota and Western Nebraska, said, “ We have chapters in every U.S. state except Hawaii.” Silacci said he hosts about 20 fundraising events a year for the foundation. Silacci said, “We’re awesome.”

The night opened with happy hour and live music performed by local college students. Attendees were invited to join raffles, a silent auction, and play games around the arena. Dinner was served and a live auction was held to finish off the night.

A few of the raffle prizes included shotguns, pistols, tools, spotlights and Yeti products.
