Two people died in a single vehicle accident on Interstate 90 in Mitchell, South Dakota Wednesday (April 29th). The names of those who sustained fatal injuries have been released.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol said in a release that 34 year old Shane Willis from Pierre, South Dakota was driving a 2018 Dodge Ram on Interstate 90 between the two Mitchell exits when the Dodge Ram entered the south ditch and struck a guard cable near an upcoming bridge over Rowley Street. The vehicle fell onto Rowley Street where it stuck a retaining wall before coming to rest on its side.
Shane Willis and his wife, 38 year old Melynda Willis passed away from their injuries, both were wearing their seatbelts. Two infant passengers in the vehicle sustained minor injuries.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
