Funeral services for 83-year old Roger Amiotte are Sat, June 24, 2023 at 1:00 CT at the Ben Looking Cloud Memorial Hall in Norris, SD, with Errol Gebue and Mother Pat White Horse officiating and traditional Lakota services by Russell Eagle Bear, Richard Moves Camp, and Wendyll White Eyes and the Eagle Nest Singers the drum group.
Burial is at St Paul’s Episcopal Cemetery in Norris.
A two-night wake service starts Thurs, June 22, at 1:00 CT at the Ben Looking Cloud Memorial Hall in Norris.
Roger Allen Amiotte “Ta Sunke Luta” was born on December 18, 1939 in Pine Ridge, SD to Emery Carl Amiotte and Blanche Emma May Wilcox. Roger made his journey to the Spirit World on June 11, 2023 at the Bennett County Hospital in Martin, SD.
Roger is survived by his spouse Twylla (Brown) Amiotte and numerous children.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents Emery Amiotte and Blanche Wilcox; and daughter Angie.
Pallbearers will be Earl Wilcox, John Wooden Knife, Russell Eagle Bear, Percy Left Hand Bull, Wesley Hawkins, Charles (Black Crow) Amiotte, and Bryon Lafferty.
