Funeral services for 59-year old Ronnie Horse Sr are Sat, Jan 14, 2023 at 11:00 at the Evergreen Community Building in Evergreen, SD, with Myron Horse officiating and traditional Lakota services by Mike Little Boy

Burial is at the Native American Church Cemetery in Porcupine, SD

A two-night wake service starts Thurs, Jan 12, at noon, at the Evergreen Community Building with evening services at 7:00 each night.

Ronnie Joseph Horse Sr “Pejuta Heyoka” was born on February 23, 1963 in Pine Ridge, SD to Douglas and Jessie (Yellow Bull) Horse.  Ronnie made his journey to the Spirit World on January 8, 2023 at the Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck, ND.

Ronnie is survived by his children, Ronnie Jo (Zhona) Horse and Ronnie Joseph Horse Jr, both of Billings, MT, and Ronatta (Johnny) Hurtado of Bozeman, MT; grandchildren Elyon Glenn and Johnny Hurtado; sisters Wilma (Horse) Kills In Water and Mary Ann Horse; brother Larry Horse; aunts Sandy Fire Lightning, Wendy Chase, Blossom Johnson, and Thelma Johnson; and uncle Gerald Ice.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents Douglas and Jessie Horse; brothers Jerry Horse and Hobart Horse Jr; paternal grandparents Abraham and Josephine (Old Shield) Yellow Bull; maternal grandparents Noah Horse, Carrie Killsree; granddaughter Nyvelle Quick Bear; and nephews Dougie Horse, Dion Horse, Devron Horse.

Pallbearers will be David Pourier, Waverly Chief, Burton Chief, Avery Red Cloud, Jonathan Horse, Jerry Horse Jr, Myron Horse, Ronnie Horse Jr, Larry Horse, Silas Red Cloud, and John Red Cloud Jr.
