A Republican candidate for the South Dakota Legislature has been charged with child abuse for allegedly exposing a minor to sexual grooming behavior.
      44-year old Joel Koskan is running for the South Dakota State Senate in District 26.
     A criminal complaint filed by the state attorney general’s office accuses Koskan of sexually grooming the minor over a 6 year period, primarily in Mellette County – which includes part of the Rosebud Sioux Reservation. He faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted of the Class 4 felony.
