SD Women’s Prison Warden Out

Loading

There’s been another shakeup in the leadership of the South Dakota Department of Corrections with Darren Berg out as warden of the Women’s Prison in Pierre after just over 2 years..

The agency has not made an official announced, but a letter from Deputy Secretary of Corrections Doug Clark to department staff that was obtained by Dakota News Now said Berg’s ouster was effective Wednesday.

The email also said that Associate Warden Aaron Miller will take over daily operations at the prison until a new warden is hired with Corrections Secretary Kellie Wasko helping with personnel and operation issues that may “rise to the level of warden.”
