The Chadron Police served a search warrant following a medical call at a home on North Mears Tuesday.

Lt. Walz said a male requested medical assistance after allegedly using marijuana and cocaine. Police served a search warrant at the home in the 500 block of North Mears Aug. 15 at 6:20 a.m. and located drug paraphernalia and THC product. An 18-year-old male was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, and a 27-year-old male was cited for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Two other investigations continue after reports in the 200 block of Pine Street on Aug. 15, as well. Police were called to that area twice, the first at 8:17 a.m. when the reporting party accused a former resident of breaking her front door. That afternoon around 2 p.m., police returned to the block for a report of paint on an apartment door and the sidewalk.

    • My guess would be someone who wanted to make money…. Also, your statement is somewhat vague. What are you eluding to, should they have not put them in, do these people not need a place to live? How is the location imperative to your statement?

  1. Asking a question to a question is a quick way to start a big loop of no answers… Also, hiding is a bit of a stretch. I mean in all honesty I have only ever met one other John Jacob Jingleheimerschmidt, his name is my name too. Whenever we go out, people always shout. So, we had to quit spending so much time together.

  2. Jeff, honestly at this point I feel like you have maxed out your potential and can only impress me at this point. You are probably a wonderful person who loves his family. I feel terrible that you want to interact with an online disagreement, and are obviously terrible at online disagreements. Your initial point has never been made and you sound like an old man upset that the town grew around you. I wish you the best and hope you can move on without too much frustration. Stick to loving your family and avoid future run ins with Mr. Jingleheimerschmidt.

  3. You’re telling me they received a call for a medical episode and served a search warrant off of that? Reminder, police are not here to protect and serve you. They will incriminate you for asking for help. Disgusting.

    • Dear Annoyed Citizen,
simply put – No, that is not what happened at all. The individual had a medical event after allegedly using marijuana and cocaine. It seems to reason that someone involved with the call, be in law enforcement, fire or medical staff, noticed something was wrong – either by seeing the marijuana or paraphernalia, or statements by the individual. Apparently a judge agreed that there was enough probable cause to issue a search warrant. I would say that this follows the letter of the law quite well. It is not the police who are wrong here. It is the individual who allegedly used illegal drugs and had illegal items in their house. Not sure how you can blame police for doing their job to help this individual in cleaning up their life. There is no incrimination for asking for help, there is incrimination for breaking the law. Whether or not you agree with a law, does not give anyone a pass to violate it. This individual made the choice to use drugs (allegedly) and they knew there was risks involved.
