At the Legion Class C Seniors State Tournament at the historic Modisett Ball Park in Rushville, the host Sheridan County Security First Regulators won their opener.
Sheridan County scored 6 runs in the 6th inning and 2 in the top of the 7th to rally and top Hartington in a 12-10 slugfest.
It was a back-and-forth game. The Regulators scored once in the 1st, but Hartington plated 2, then made it 3-1 going into the 3rd. Sheridan County tied it, only to give up 3 more runs in the bottom of the inning to trail 6-3.
Each team scored once in the 5th, then the Regulators exploded for 6 runs in the 6th for a 10-7 lead. Hartington answered again and tied it, but Sheridan County had the final say with 2 more in the 7th for the 12-10 win. Aydon McDonald got the victory.
Sheridan County now plays C7 champion Imperial, who topped Lincoln Lutheran 6-5 despite 5 errors by rallying for 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th. Imperial beat Sheridan County 5-0 last Sunday in the C7 tournament Game time today is 4:00.
    Also yesterday, Malcolm beat Wilber 10-2 while DCB (Dannebrog Cairo Boelus) walloped Pender 11-1 in 5 innings.
