Graveside services for 93-year old Shirley Cuckler are Monday, June 5, 2023, at 1:00 CT at Memorial Park Cemetery in Hutchinson, KS, with the Reverend Dr Kim Biery officiating.
Friends may call from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd Hospice, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
Shirley J Cuckler was born June 14, 1929, in Chadron, NE, to Walter and Amanda (Martens) Dobbins. She died May 29, 2023, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community in Buhler, KS.
Shirley graduated from Chadron High School and on Sept 18, 1949, she married Boyd A Cuckler in Chadron. He died March 29, 2014, after they’d shared almost 65 years of marriage.
Shirley was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, gardening, crocheting, and fishing at the lake. She was also a talented seamstress, even making bridesmaid and flower girl dresses.
After Boyd retired, they wintered in Mission, TX, where Shirley learned the game of golf.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.
Shirley is survived by: daughters Deborah Siebert (Richard) of Hutchinson, and Cheryl Leigh Odell (Chris Hamlin) of Russell, KS; grandchildren Danae Wallace-Gates (Darrell) of Overland Park, KS, Shawn Dressman and Justin Whitt (Michelle), both of Hutchinson; great-grandchildren Ashlyn, Rylee, Reis, Brayden, Jocelyn, Brooklyn, Ava, and Jonah; brother Clayton Dobbins of Fort Worth, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by: her parents; sisters Lucille Haley and Helen Redfern; brother Richard Dobbins; granddaughter Sherry Ann Richardson; and son-in-law Conrad Odell.
