Sonia Ruth Fights Over-Afraid of Hawk was born on June 25, 1968 in Pine Ridge, SD to Richard Afraid of Hawk. Sonia made her journey to the Spirit World on August 18, 2022 at the Bennett County Nursing Home in Martin, SD.
Sonia is survived by her children, Rueben & Prince Little Moon of Pine Ridge, SD, Phillip George Jr of Sioux Falls, SD, Latonya Fights Over of Flandreau, SD, and Princess Little Moon of Pine Ridge, SD; grandchildren, Tayven Little Moon of Oglala, SD, Quinton Red Shirt of Pierre, SD, Jordianna Red Stone of Pine Ridge, SD, Malik Kent of Flandreau, SD, Malachi George of Martin, SD, Zane & Keith George of Madison, SD, Myklin Pumpkin Seed of Pine Ridge, SD, Mykhail Little Moon of Wanblee, SD, and Zya’Belle George of Pine Ridge, SD; and hunka children, Brian Good Voice Elk of Rapid City, SD, Alex Winters of Pine Ridge, SD, Cherish Lakota of Pine Ridge, SD, and Edward Two Hawk of Rapid City, SD.
Sonia was preceded in death by her father, Richard Afraid of Hawk; hunka daughter, Gracie Two Hawk; granddaughter, Katara Little Moon; twin sister, Latonia Fights Over; brother, Earl Standing Soldier; grandparents, Hannah Running Eagle, Matthew Fights Over, and Andrew & Fanny (Mountain Sheep) Fights Over.
