The Chadron Police Department has closed South Maple Street from 8th to 10th for safety reasons as the Chadron Volunteer Fire Department works on a fire at the Maple Ridge Apartments.
The fire was reported around noon and was quickly contained, but fire equipment and personnel out on South Maple Street led to the decision for the two block closure. South Maple Street is expected to reopen shortly.
