Daniel Edward Dreyer was born May 27, 1987, to Ronald and Marie Dreyer in Denver, CO, and went to heaven on Feb 28, 2023, at his home in Newton after suffering from a serious medical emergency.

Danny weighed in at 3-lbs and 15-oz at birth, but was eager to grow. He doubled his weight at 1 month, tripled it at 2 months, and quadrupled it at 3 months.

Danny joined his family as the youngest child following siblings, Mike and Sandy. Sandy slept by his bassinet for a very long time in order to keep a close attentive eye on him.

He was baptized into the Christian faith at the family home church, Immanuel Lutheran Church of Rushville.

Dan grew into boyhood on the family farm, helping his father repair farm equipment and doing electrical work while learning much more than he realized he was learning.

At age 9, he experienced the loss of his brother Mike. While trying to make sense of this tragedy he asked the astute question “Dad, what is Mike doing in heaven?”

Dan attended the rural Prairie View School District #22 until grade 7, then he attended Rushville Elementary and Rushville High school, graduating in the class of 2005.

Dan attended Chadron State College, studying engineering and working summers at Henkens implement, then transferred after 2 years to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he graduated with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.

During the summer while at UNL, he went to work for AGCO with the harvest support brigade, the combine field test crew, and the windrower field test group.

Dan immediately went to work full-time for AGCO after graduating from UNL, starting in Hesston, KS, in the windrower engineering department.

One of his first assignments was to go to Denmark, where he and another associate spent 2 weeks modifying a new AGCO Combine to meet Denmark’s transportation standards.

Dan spent his entire 12-year career at AGCO and reached the position of Senior Design Engineer.

Left to mourn his death are his Father Ron, Mother Marie, Sister Sandra (Andrew) Doernemann, nephews Owen and Lucas, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends and acquaintances.

Dan knew no stranger.

Broadway Colonial Funeral Home of Newton, KS, is in charge of arrangements for Dan Dreyer.
