After a slow start, the Crawford girls rolled to a 58-35 victory over the Sioux County Warriors Thursday to win the D2-12 Sub-District championship and advance to the District Finals.

The Rams were 18-of-23 from the free throw line and netted eight treys on their way to the win. Natalie Barry led the Rams with 22 points. She hit a trio of threes and was 10-of-13 on the line. Skylar Summers added 15, including two treys and 100% showing at the charity stripe. Kylah Vogel chipped in 13, adding the final three treys and a 4-of-6 effort on the line.

Hannah Krein led the scoring efforts for the Warriors with 12. She, too, was 100% from the line, sinking all six of her attempts. As a team, Sioux County was 14-of-18 on free throws but only hit one three in the contest.

The teams got off to a slow beginning, with the Rams leading 5-1 midway through the first quarter before Crawford went on a 7-4 run before the end of the period to lead 12-5. A huge second quarter, where the Rams netted 21 points behind four three-pointers by Vogel and Summers, put Crawford up 33-16 at the break.

Barry scored 12 of the Rams’ 14 third quarter points, including a buzzer beater trey she chucked up from half-court to pad Crawford’s lead, 47-25. The teams paced each other in the final eight minutes, with the Rams edging the Warriors 11-10 to wrap the game.
