Tanya Renee Ghost Bear was born on August 22, 1976 in Pine Ridge, SD to Goldie Tobacco. Tanya made her journey to the Spirit World on January 4, 2022 at the Pine Ridge I.H.S. Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD.
Tanya is survived by her children, Cole Fast Wolf; Wayslynn Ghost Bear, Raina Ghost Bear, Wayden Ghost Bear, and Waylen Ghost Bear all from #4 Community; mother, Goldie Tobacco of #4 Community; sister, Heather Protector of #4 Community; and brother, Jordan Tobacco of Rapid City, SD.
Tanya was preceded in death by her uncles, Abraham Tobacco and Ole Tobacco; grandmother, Iva Black Elk; father, Leonard Protector; and baby Ghost Bear.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Tobacco, Cole Fast Wolf, Riley Black Elk, Josiah Cottier, Donnie LeBeau, Evans Youngman, Wilmer Youngman, Jr., Preston Good Voice Flute, Harold Good Voice Flute, and Latrell Wounded.
