Terry Reitz was born Oct 30, 1948 in Alliance, NE, to Herman & Ruth (Raubach) Reitz. He went home to be with his heavenly father February 4, 2023.

Terry grew up on a farm in Hay Springs, NE, where he attended school until he graduated in 1967. He was married to Marlene Scott from 1967-1982, and they had two children (Heidi & Tony).

Terry attended business school in Denver, CO, right after high school and was employed as an underwriter for AAA Insurance. After several years in Denver, he and his family moved back to Hay Springs where he became a manager for Panhandle Cooperative and a deputy sheriff for Sheridan County.

The family eventually moved to Scottsbluff, where he worked for Panhandle Coop. Insurance seemed to still be in his blood as he returned to working in the insurance industry.

He met Vivian (Vi) in 1983 and they were married in 1985. Their union added another four children to the family (Dave, Roger, Scott & Jill).

Terry continued to work in the insurance industry until he & Vi started Reitz Insurance and made their home with Farmers Insurance. Terry was a member of NAIFA (National Association of Insurance Financial Advisors) and won many awards.

Terry loved family, especially his grandchildren & great grandchildren. He got to be a kid with them by playing board games and his favorite game, chicken foot. He also enjoyed sharing his love of Jesus with them.

His love of Jesus was shared not only with family but amongst friends and his church. Northfield Church and the Lord were a very important part of his life. He was a board member under several pastors and was a distinguished member of the church.

His belief in the Lord was so strong that he thought if you are sick, you belong in church.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents Herman & Ruth Reitz.

He is survived by his wife Vivian Reitz; sister Rita Jo Reitz; children: Heidi (Ken) Lehr, Tony (Remona) Reitz, Dave Nowatzke, Scott (Kim) Nowatzke and Jill (Eugene) Ulrich; grandchildren: Kristoffer (Veronica) Lehr, Casey (Krys) Lehr, Cameron Lehr, Kyler (Cassie) Mills, Jazmin Mills, Kaden Nowatzke, Shelby Nowatzke and Patrick Moore; great-grandchildren: Delbert Harsin, Krista Lehr, Dean Lehr, Myranda Lehr, Lillith Lehr, Niklaus Lehr, and Dominik Mills.
