Thomas Howard Hawk passed away in Baton Rouge, LA on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at the age of 69. Tom was born in Belle Fourche, South Dakota to Howard Charles Hawk and Teresa Marie Sturges.
Tom’s father dubbed him Elkheart. He was strong, bold, stubborn, loving, funny, and deeply loyal.
Tom was a voracious reader with a deeply curious mind. He noticed the world around him and shared his observations through beautiful and vivid writing.
Tom managed restaurants in Texas and Louisiana and later worked as an insurance adjuster.
Tom was preceded in death by his father Howard Charles Hawk, mother Teresa Marie Sturges Hawk, and sister Kathleen Hawk Norman.
He is survived by six of his siblings: Dennis Hawk (Carol) of Kansas City, MO; Jim Hawk of Chadron, NE; Mary Hawk of Lincoln, NE; Patty Hawk (Rod Diercks) of Crete, NE; Marty Hawk (Kerri) of Minneapolis, MN; and J.J. Hawk (Kimberly) of Beaverton, OR.; 12 nieces and nephews, and 8 great-nieces and nephews.
