A Mass of Christian Burial for 65-year old Thomas Watters will be Friday, Nov 4, 2022 at 1:00 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Ridge, SD, with Father Edmund Yainao, SJ, and Ms Joyce Tibbitts officiating.
Burial is at St Stephen’s Catholic Cemetery in Kyle, SD
A one-night wake service starts Thurs, Nov 3, at 3:00 at Sacred Heart Catholic with vigil and rosary at 7:00.
A meal will be served at the church Friday morning before the Mass at 11:00
Thomas Lane Watters was born on June 12, 1957 in Kadoka, SD to James Thomas Watters and Bernice Lucille (Shangreau) Watters. Thomas made his journey to the Spirit World on October 23, 2022 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Thomas is survived by his daughter, Stacee Lane Watters; significant other, Candace Good Voice Flute; sister, Patty (Leo) Eagle Bull; brother, Larry (Melody) Watters; aunt, Elizabeth (Tom) Ann (Shangreau) Conroy; sister-in-law, Iva Good Voice Flute; brother-in-law, Preston Good Voice Flute; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, James and Bernice Watters; brothers, James & Robert Watters; maternal grandparents, Martin & Louise (Jones) Shangreau; paternal grandparents, John & Grace (Wessels) Watters; hunka brother, Wayne Trueblood; mother-in-law, Lillian Tobacco; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Mike Akers, Efrem “Zig” Trueblood, Brandon Shangreau, Preston Good Voice Flute, Willie Pond, Pat Two Bulls, Ken Carpio, and Richard “Goat” Hill.
