Two Arrests in Chadron Over Past Week

Loading

The first half of the week was a busy one for the Chadron Police Department, between a DUI arrest and a warrant arrest.

Tuesday evening, according to Chadron Police Chief Rick Hickstein, a female drove her vehicle to the police station. As officers met her in the lobby to assist her, they grew suspicious that she had been under the influence. After a DUI investigation was done, it was confirmed that 26 year old Kassandra Thunder Hawk had driven her vehicle and was deemed to be intoxicated. She was then arrested for DUI 2nd Offense and Driving Under Suspension.

Officers also brought in a warrant arrest while patroling Saturday. Hickstein said that a routine traffic stop was conducted on East 10th Street in Chadron. Upon running a background check on the motorist, it was discovered he had a warrant out of Dawes County. 55 year old Hermis Wayne Janice was taken into custody on a warrant and for driving under suspension.
