Uncooperative Victim Leads To Charges Being Dropped Against Unsuccessful SD Candidate

Loading

Prosecutors have dropped 2nd-degree rape charges against a Pine Ridge Reservation man who was an unsuccessful Republican candidate for the South Dakota House of Representatives District 27 last year.

Prosecutors asked that the case against Bud Marty May of Kyle be dismissed because the victim in the case didn’t want to cooperate.

May was accused of forcing himself on the women in a bathroom stall at a bar. After his arrest, he told officers he had nothing to do with the incident, then said his actions involving the woman were “simply a hug.”
